Klaus Larres is the Richard M Krasno Distinguished Professor of History and International Affairs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the US. He also is a Member (Fellow) of the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) in Princeton, New Jersey, and a non-residential fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations at the School of Advanced International Relations (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC. Educated in Germany and the UK, he has published widely on the triangle US-Germany/Europe-China as well as on US, British and German foreign policy during and after the Cold War.
