Gabor Scheiring (Ph.D., Cambridge University) is a Marie Curie Fellow at Bocconi University, and a former member of the Hungarian Parliament (2010-2014). His research utilizes insights from sociology, economics, political science, and social epidemiology to advance human development, democracy, and health. His recent book, The Retreat of Liberal Democracy (Palgrave, 2020) analyses how global economic transformation gave rise to illiberal populism in Hungary.
