Mordecai Kurz is an Emeritus Professor of Economics at Stanford University and the author of The Market Power of Technology: Understanding the Second Gilded Age (Columbia University Press, 2023) and the forthcoming Private Power and Democracy’s Decline: How to Make Capitalism Support Democracy (MIT Press, 2026).
